I’ll be learning for the rest of my days what it is to deeply abide in the love of God - how to seek his face, how to invite and enjoy him in all kinds of moments…how to be awake to and receive the invitation he constantly extends to me (and all of us) to be with him. This collection of songs reminds me that his friendship is not frail and it does not wither away when everything else, including my own strength, does. To press onward in knowing him is the thrill and hope of life, and these songs wake my soul up to it. I hope they spark some inner flame for you too.

Thank You’s

Thank you to the writers and producers who chased these songs with me and took them from black and white to some of the brightest colors I’ve seen before in the writing and recording process. Producers Bryan Fowler, David Leonard, and Jacob Sooter - each of you are insane at what you do. Thank you for writing, creating, and producing. Thank you for not trying to write or create the next big thing but for wanting to write and create the next true thing for me. These are some of the most personally important songs I’ve ever written and I’m beyond thankful for y’all’s incredible gifting, work ethic, and posture of serving. Thank you Hank Bentley and Jessie Early for lending your undeniable gifts to writing Let Not Your Heart Be Troubled with me - thank you for writing what my soul needed to sing.

Thank you Alex Whiten for being the artistic visionary for all the album/single art and packaging. I completely trust your direction and your instincts and it’s a huge gift to be able to let you steer. Thank you Sutton Davison for creating teaser illustrations for social media that captured each song so well. Thank you Stacie & Lori, my friends at Concord Music Publishing, MAMBA and Amanda Remo, Shawn Fowler, and The Dwyers.

Thank you to my incredible management team at The Stable Collective, Mark Mattingly and Alex Whiten. I literally can not imagine a better team to work with.

ALL my family and community for constantly inspiring me to know God more and for celebrating every single song release. Will Franklin and Faye, I couldn’t do any of this with out your faithfulness, wonder, and joy filling up my life every day. Thank you for loving me always and showing me deep unconditional love.

1. Magnet

I wanna be right, right here in the middle of your story
I wanna run like a river to the places you call me
Close enough to feel the stillness when you speak
Nothing between us, just you and me

So let me be a magnet
To everywhere you move
Lead me to the center
Of everything you do
And when I start to wonder
Away from what is true
Pull me back, pull me back, pull me back
Pull me back to you

I wanna stay right, right here in the safety of your shadow
I wanna dance in the dark cause I know you hold me close
Oh our presence is the only thing I need
No independence, with you I’m free

So let me be a magnet
To everywhere you move
Lead me to the center
Of everything you do
And when I start to wonder
Away from what is true
Pull me back, pull me back, pull me back
Pull me back to you

In you my joy is found
In you my hope is found
In you you peace is found
I’m drawn to you forever

In you my joy is found
In you my hope is found
In you you peace is found
I’m drawn to you forever

So let me be a magnet
To everywhere you move
Lead me to the center
Of everything you do
And when I start to wonder
Away from what is true
Pull me back, pull me back, pull me back
Pull me back to you

2. Quiet Talk

You pull me in
My face in your tender hands
I don’t need the thunder
I don’t need a sign
I just need a moment
Just you and I

For quiet talk
I am aching for this quiet talk
All of your attention
And you have all of mine
I am aching for this quiet talk
Quiet talk

You’ve always been
Such a good listener
I know I can be messy
Run a thousand different ways
But you’re only ever present
The only thing you chase is

Quiet talk
I am aching for this quiet talk
All of your attention
And you have all of mine
I am aching for this quiet talk
Quiet talk

(You, me, in the quiet place
You see all the hidden space
You, me in the quiet place)

Maybe the greatest miracle is a conversation
Maybe the greatest thing I’ll do is talk with you
Maybe the thing I need to hear
Is that all you want is quiet talk

Quiet talk
I am aching for this quiet talk
All of your attention
And I give you all of mine
You are aching for this quiet talk
Quiet talk

3. Flourishing, Thriving

There’s a secret place inside
There are mysteries for only you to find
There’s a song that’s only sung between you and God
I pray you find the words
Let the melodies run through the halls of your heart
Let the echo fill the space, Let the silence break

Bring him all your cares
Bring him all your heart
What’s never seen just place in his loving arms
So you can hold what’s true
His very love for you
I know it well, it’s all I want for you
It’s a flourishing, thriving, friendship with God

Some days you’ll hear him speak
Crystal clear and it’ll bring you to your feet
And bring praise to your lips
And joy to your soul
When it happens hold it tight
In his presence just sing with all your might
Let it carry you through the hardest of times

Bring him all your cares
Bring him all your heart
What’s never seen just place in his loving arms
So you can hold what’s true
His very love for you
I know it well, it’s all I want for you
It’s a flourishing, thriving, friendship with God

When you can not find the words within yourself
Listen first
He’ll sing it back to you
Let the sound of heaven’s song
Wrap you up and take you home
He’s waiting there for you
He’s singing over you
Singing over you

Bring him all your cares
Bring him all your heart
What’s never seen just place in his loving arms
So you can hold what’s true
His very love for you
I know it well, it’s all I want for you
It’s a flourishing, thriving, friendship with God

4. Let Not Your Heart Be Troubled

Let not your heart be troubled
Let not your faith be swayed
Even when the mountains start to shake

Let not your hope grow weary
Let not your peace give way
Even when the levy starts to break

Wait, wait, wait upon the Lord to give you strength
Wait, wait, wait upon the Lord to give you strength

Let not your heart be troubled
Let not your vision fade
Remember all the promises he’s made

Come all ye heavy laden
Come here and find your rest
Come and lay your head upon his chest

Wait, wait, wait upon the Lord to give you strength
Wait, wait, wait upon the Lord to give you strength

He will carry all the weight
Trade your worry for his grace
His yoke is easy, His burden light
Lift your head up, lift your eyes

Let not your heart be troubled
Let not your flame go dim
Everything you need You’ll find in Him
Everything you need You have in Him
